The HG-HMAT Design
The HG-HMAT riot helmet is built around a high-impact shell with a multi-point retention system that stays secured through dynamic movement. The face shield attaches with a positive-retention mechanism that does not require tools to deploy or retract, allowing officers to manage face shield position quickly during operations. The internal padding is designed for sustained wear, distributing pressure across the contact surface rather than concentrating it at the brow and crown.
Rapid Deployment Compatibility
Rapid response deployment requires gear that goes on fast and goes on correctly the first time. The HG-HMAT's attachment system has a consistent and simple donning sequence that can be trained to automatic response. Officers who have the sequence memorized can have the helmet properly fitted and retained in under thirty seconds, which matters when the response timeline is compressed.
This integrates with the Enforcer MP's collar and shoulder protection to create a continuous coverage zone from crown to chest. The integration was designed, not adapted. The helmet base and suit collar geometry were developed together to eliminate the coverage gap that affects mixed-manufacturer kits.
What Departments Report
Departments that have conducted T&E evaluations of the HG-HMAT consistently flag two features above others: face shield clarity and the absence of headache complaints during extended wear. Face shield fogging is the most common complaint in riot helmet evaluations across all manufacturers. Haven Gear's anti-fog treatment addresses this. The padding system's pressure distribution addresses the extended wear complaint.
