Haven Gear makes four distinct riot suit configurations. Each was designed for a specific operational context, and the right choice between them is a deployment question, not a budget question. Here is what each does and who it is built for.
Defender: Maximum Protection
The Defender is Haven Gear's highest-protection configuration. It is built for sustained crowd control operations where officers will face significant projectile and contact threats over extended periods. Full limb integration, reinforced joint protection at the knees, elbows, and shoulders, and maximum coverage make it the right suit for front-line officers in direct crowd contact.
Departments that use the Defender typically deploy it specifically on their primary riot response teams, the officers at the front of a line formation or in the highest-contact positions. It is not optimized for officers in support, command, or patrol roles who need mobility more than maximum coverage.
Enforcer MP: Modular and Versatile
The Enforcer MP is the most versatile suit in the lineup. Full MOLLE platform, integrated ballistic carrier, built-in hydration and cooling, fire resistance to BS 7971-3:2002, DIN 53438, and ISO 6941, and approximately 10 lbs base weight. It covers the full operational range from riot formation to correctional extraction to mounted deployment, and its modular accessory system allows officers to configure their load-out by assignment without changing suits.
Most departments find that the Enforcer MP is the right choice for the majority of their officers across most deployment types. View the Enforcer MP →
Patrol Suit: Covert Protection for Pre-Escalation
The Patrol suit is a different category of product. Its textile outer shell is designed to present like standard law enforcement attire from a distance, integrating protective capability into a professional-appearance construction. Officers in Patrol suits can work community events, protests in their early stages, and high-tension patrol assignments without the visual signal that full riot gear creates.
The Patrol suit does not replace full riot kit for high-intensity operations. It provides protection in situations where there is no operational appropriateness for visible riot gear and no time to stage a gear change if things develop. View the Patrol Suit →
Mounted Rider Suit: Configured for the Saddle
The Mounted Rider Suit addresses the specific geometry and mobility requirements of officers working from horseback. Inner thigh clearance, shoulder mobility for rein work, and helmet compatibility for mounted eye-level visibility are all addressed in the design. It pairs with the Haven Gear horse riot protection collar for complete mounted unit protection. View the Mounted Suit →
